Kenya is increasingly popular with foreign tourists - not surprising when we look at what the country has to offer. What are the top seven things to see and do in Kenya?
1. Going on safari
Kenya has a well-functioning system of national parks, which are the most beautiful in Africa. This has the best Kenya safari destination in the world. Masai Mara and Amboseli National Park are the most popular Wildlife Resorts, and drag them to the tourist season(July-August and December / January). However, there are many hidden treasures for safaris are on the left.
My favorites are the impressive Mount Elgon National Park - the area around Africa, the third-highest mountain - and the small but fine Saiwa Swamp National Park. Both draw few visitors but are of breathtaking beauty and tranquility.
2. Visit the Swahili coast
Within Kenya's coastal region is apart. Arabs have visited this part along the Indian Oceansince 9 Century, and this led to the creation of the famous Swahili culture - a vibrant mix of African, Arab and Indian cultures. Many people here are Muslims, although a liberal type.
If you have the chance to see a Taarab performance, seductive African, Arab and Indian music played at weddings and other celebrations. And of course Kenya has 500 kilometers of white sandy beaches with excellent and affordable beach resorts, where you can eat and drink martinis directly to your home Beach.
3. Visit a tribal village
In particular, the Maasai, Samburu and Turkana peoples still live a traditional tribal life. It is possible to visit their villages and take a drink tea ceremony and traditional dances to be seen. But, ask a travel guide for a good opportunity to directly, rather than too much left of tourists visited the demoralizing high-pressure sales presentations.
4. Experience the migration of the wildebeest
Perhaps the best of all Kenya> Travel Tips. Every year in September-October, between half and one million wildebeest suddenly gather on the Serengeti plains in Tanzania, after which they migrate back in a big circle through the south of Kenya and back. It is one of the largest animals on Earth shows. Some huts are strategically placed, you will be right in the middle.
5. Take a ride in a hot air balloon
Short hot air balloon trips over one of the largest Wildlife Resorts - mostly Masai Mara - theincreasingly popular. It is usually very early in the morning so that the first hours after sunrise sliding will spend about the Kenyan plains, the best time for animal observation. There are breakfast with champagne after landing. Price around $ 400, they are not cheap, however.
6. Visit Nairobi
Who is the big bad Nairobi fear? It does not have the best reputation, but actually I like Nairobi, and if you apply some common sense precautions, nothing is more disagreeable likelyto happen. Nairobi is a very cosmopolitan city, where Africans and whites gather from all countries.
My favorite places are Simmers, for a late breakfast with good coffee and newspapers, and the New Florida nightclub (nicknamed "Madhouse"), which is indeed a pretty crazy in the wee hours ... And just outside the major Nairobi Nairobi National Park, so that in Nairobi, one of the few capitals in the world where you are in the midst of the wild bush with a 30-minute taxi rideDrive from the city center.
7. Immerse yourself in the Indian Ocean
Kenya has great opportunities for diving and snorkeling, even by professional standards. The reefs in Watamu National Park along the coast are in excellent condition. There are many very exotic fish in all colors and shapes imaginable. Fishers are completely banned from the waters, so you will not be disturbed. Even harmless whale sharks regularly visit the waters, a highlight for all divers.
With this listof Kenya travel tips, I have not mentioned yet that is permanently covered with ice trekking Mount Kenya, the vast population of pink flamingos of Lake Nakuru, the coastal city of Mombasa with its ancient fortress, the paradise island of Lamu, dhow races and much more.
